The Republic

The unique angled form of this new tower adds a contemporary profile to Austin’s skyline and brings much-needed high-end office space, distinctive amenities and street-level retail to the Central Business District. With its height and location on a one-block site adjacent to Republic Square—one of Austin’s four original public squares and now fully renovated—the completed project is destined to be the city’s next landmark building.

The striking design is punctuated by an upper level sky-terrace on the eastern side with views of the Colorado River. A main terrace and greenspace atop the tower’s podium parking provide building tenants multiple outdoor seating and social areas as well as extensive views of Republic Square Park to the north. A sixty-foot setback allows the creation of a covered entry courtyard, a public plaza and integrated retail. These spaces face the park and present opportunities for public art installations and events. This lively pedestrian zone fosters synergies between activities in the park and the building to create a vibrant urban destination.
