Jad M. Chami
Jad’s Lebanese background and his upbringing in West Africa opened his eyes to the cultural differences that exist in architecture. In Nigeria, he was surrounded by flat, small-scale architecture that bonded cultures, while in Lebanon he witnessed historic buildings get demolished to pave way for high-rises. He witnessed the carelessness others had for preserving historic places and wanted to join those discussions as an architect to improve people’s lives rather than disrupt them.
While receiving his Master of Architecture at NC State University, he appreciated the mentorship and positive environment Duda|Paine cultivated on campus. As a designer, Jad prioritizes the experience of users. He seeks to advance understanding of how the future will influence a building’s surroundings and integrate new technologies.
