American Tobacco Master Plan, 1997 + 2012

The American Tobacco complex lies a short distance from our offices, and planning for its development and growth involved professional commitment and personal passion. The 1997 planning effort centered on rehabilitation and revitalization of the one million square foot, underutilized and neglected American Tobacco Factory and Warehouse into offices, housing, retail and parking around a central common. The 2012 effort transformed a site beside the adjacent Durham Bulls Baseball Park and DPAC performing arts center into a campus with a YMCA, public green space, biking trails and restaurants. Development of this vital core for the City of Durham will ultimately include additional residential units, offices, retail and dining venues.
