ALEX KUHN

Designer

Growing up in South Africa has allowed Alex to understand the importance of architecture that respects the character of place and context. His focus on developing designs through both physical and digital modeling allow the team and the client to engage with the experiential factors of a project.

After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of the Free State in South Africa, Alex pursued a Master of Architecture at Syracuse University before completing it at Virginia Tech. Through these ventures he came to appreciate scale and proportion and how to develop purposeful concepts that are contextually appropriate. Alex sees architecture as inhabitable art, allowing the artist creative freedom within constraints of physics.

With experience in construction, Alex understands design through several stages of development. He aims to create projects that take into consideration the client, site and culture in meaningful ways.
