Academic culture has long been supported and advanced by the form and experience of buildings. The pandemic has shown that learning can happen in all types of spaces beyond the standard classroom. Even before quarantines and distancing became necessary, students sought spaces that merge socializing and learning, provide options for diverse activities, and are adaptable to individual or collaborative work. In addition, increasingly building functions overlap and interweave.
