WestStar Tower

WestStar Tower at Hunt Plaza, with its signature corona and prismatic architecture, rises in the skyline to express the spirit and optimism of El Paso, Texas—a city undergoing tremendous growth and an exciting cultural and economic revitalization in its downtown core. The project is the first tower to be built in the city in 40 years.

The mixed-use design seeks to bring an exuberance to El Paso’s skyline reflective of the community’s diverse culture. Its materiality evokes the warm colors and natural textures prevalent in the surrounding desert landscape. Linear terra cotta elements and recessed balconies break and define the building’s glass facades to indicate the human activity within. The balconies also allow users to discover varied views of the city. The glazing’s horizontal patterning echoes the sedimentary striations of the Franklin Mountains visible just beyond the city limits. The building steps back on its site to allow a ground-level park and plaza to add to a growing network of open public spaces in the district.

WestStar Tower is estimated to be completed late 2020.
